YAC-HACKS Tips, Tricks, and Hacks to make Your Kayaking life easier

Tips, Tricks, and Hacks to make Your Kayaking life easier.
.

YAK-HAC # 1.

This is something I stumbled across when I first started to work on my kayak.  I am not even sure what I was working on that day but they have become very handy.

Nearly every kayak has one or two of these little contraptions on them.  They are more commonly called pad eyes.  Unfortunately pad eyes can get rather pricey, and depending on where you buy them from and if you like the stainless steel kind, you can pay up to $2.50 a piece for them.

Here is my great find and my Yac-HacK #1.

I found this at my local  Menard's Hardware Center. The best part, they were only .89 cents each.  I have used the several times on yac. One of the main uses was when I installed my Anchor Trolley.  I plan to show you how I installed my trolley at a later date,  but here is a picture of one of these guys attached to my kayak. So as you can see how I used it. I will take a  .89cents part over $2.50 any day.

  1. I stopped by my local Menards to check on those pad eye hachs so that I can tell you where they were and how much they would cost. Well they are in the gate hardware section and they are called strap loops and they are made of nickel. The ones I bought were actually $0.79. I will put a picture on of them later.

    Thank you Joe Gabrel
